PICKLEBALL ETIQUETTE

  • Meet at the net after the game has finished and tap paddles
  • Call score loudly before serving
  • Limit lobs to movement impaired players
  • Try not to smash less skilled players
  • Call your own foot faults
  • Congratulate a Special shot or rally
  • Call “ball on court” loudly and stop play
  • When a stray ball is hit onto your court, pick it up and give it back to the correct team, don’t just hit the ball anywhere
  • Try not to walk past a point that is being played by another game
  • Good sportsmanship always

GENERAL RULES TO BE OBSERVED

  • Out ball decisions are made by the receiving end, not the other end
  • If you wish to ask your opponents if they think the ball is in or out, you may and then you abide by their decision
  • If you are not sure if the ball is in or out, it’s in
  • Do not admonish other players on and off the court. This includes foul language, even at yourself.
  • Spectators should not be calling line decisions
  • Don’t argue with your opponents about a shot. In social play if you can’t make a decision, simply play the point again.

SCPC Waiver

I and my guests added to the session acknowledge, agree and state that we understand the nature of the Pickleball activity being offered and that we are in good health and in proper physical condition to participate in Pickleball.

I and my guests ACCEPT the inherent risk of personal injury and social or economic loss either not known to me, us, or not readily foreseeable at this time. I and my guests also accept responsibility for losses, costs and damages I/we might incur as a result of participation in Pickleball.

I and my guests HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND AGREE not to sue Sunshine Coast Pickleball Club (SCPC) or its associates from all liability, I/we further agree and if, despite this release and waiver I/we or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the releasees, I/we will indemnify SCPC, and its associates from all litigation expenses and claims.

In addition, by participating in these games, I/we give permission to the game organizers to release photographs, videos, and images from the games to be used in our social and promotional items. Should the participant request that their photographs or videos be kept private, he/she must inform the organisers.

I/we have read this agreement and fully understand its terms. I/we intend this agreement to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
